Sonic Drive-In is the largest chain of drive-in restaurants in the United States.  Our restaurants offer an extensive menu with a variety of favorite and unique menu items.  We continue the tradition of the fifties with skating carhop service.  This allows us to deliver our “made to order” food directly to the customer’s car.

Along with the fun atmosphere created by skating carhops and fiber optics we provide on-lot music in the fifties format for our customer’s enjoyment.  Our skating carhops, made-to-order food, fast, friendly, personalized service, and on-lot entertainment sets us apart from the competition.  The McClain, Harvey, Vaughn Sonic Group is one of the top five largest Sonic franchise group in the United States.  We employ over 3,000 people in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi.

 Buddy McClain and Bruce Vaughn became partners in 1984, and own numerous drive-ins together.  Bruce was named President of the McClain, Harvey, Vaughn Group in 2004.  Cary Harvey became a partner in August of 1996 in the Columbia and Ellisville, MS Sonic Drive-Ins.  Prior to becoming partners, Buddy owned twelve units and Cary owned six units.  They acquired an Area Development Agreement (ADA) for the Laurel/Hattiesburg DMA in September of 1996.  The ADA for the Mississippi Gulf Coast was acquired in February of 1997.  They built their first unit as partners in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, at the 3700 West 4th Street location.

 The Mobile, Alabama DMA was acquired on July 1, 1998 and consists of fourteen drive-ins.  In 2001, the McClain, Harvey, Vaughn Sonic Group signed a DMA agreement for 20 drive-ins in the Tampa, Florida market.  And in 2005, the group agreed to build 4 new Sonic Drive-Ins in Fort Myers, FL, along with 10 new stores in West Palm Beach, FL. They currently own 87 Stores at this time and are one of the largest Franchise groups with Sonic Drive In
